1953 was a year of big changes for the Braves. They moved to Milwaukee because of a declining fan base in Boston, and Braves owner, Lou Perini, had promised to help Milwaukee find a baseball team. While the Braves were looking for a new city to call home, Atlanta offered to pay $18 million for a new stadium.
